A true micro winery.

Henley Ridge Estate takes its name from Henley Farm in Somerset, England, where Gordon grew up. Vine planting started in 2004 with 12 rows of Shiraz, part of a lifestyle vision to transform the once bare property purchased in 1999.

Over the decades, the land evolved into a thriving micro vineyard supported by rows of freshly planted fruit trees, a small herd of Angus cattle, and a thoughtful approach that blends tradition with care.

Now we have opened a small tasting room and cellar door to share with you.

What makes Henley Ridge Wines distinct?

Our vineyard is personally tended. Grape bunches are individually selected or discarded by quality, hand picked and processed on-site with minimal intervention.

Part of a working farm, our vineyard lies on a north facing slope, sheltered from south westerly winds and shaped by cool climate influences from the southern ocean. This microclimate creates unique timing for budburst and ripening, differing from other parts of The Bellarine.

English staddle stone Henley Ridge Wines Micro vineyard Bellarine

As you enter the property, you’ll notice the staddle stone positioned at the head of the drive, a symbol of Gordon’s English heritage. Used as part of the vineyard’s logo, you’ll also see images of the staddle stones on all the wine labels.

In England traditionally, staddle stones were used to elevate granaries and protect stored food from pests. Today, ours stands as a small but meaningful reminder of where Gordon’s story began.

When you visit the vineyard for a tasting, feel free to ask Gordon about the staddle stones and the role they played in his childhood. He’s always happy to share the story.

Everything is guided by:
